reflect
I've been reflecting lately on how much better my life is with my partner. I am feeling so thankful for Rafi being in my life. I love the companionship, trust and convenience of my marriage! It's so nice to know we're in it together, when I come in short, he's there to pick-up my pieces and vice versa. Having someone as wonderful as Rafi makes it all the better. We've come a long way the two of us.
It seems a mother does a lot of reflection when her baby has a birthday. I think about 2 years ago and 3 years ago and boy have our lives changed. The house is such a tactile example of our life changes, peeling paint, falling in porch and tar paper backside have been transformed. We're squaring up the angles, refinishing the surfaces and applying new materials. Our relationship has gone from that of courtship to realism; we've weathered some bumps and healed some bruises along the way. We're in a team, it's a team that enables each of us to be. When we hit road blocks instead of calling for help, we pull out our compass, our checkbook and some work gloves; and begin the hard work of fixing the road ahead.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love this family of mine.

We Seem To Have A 2 Year Old!
She started her day with an inside-out and backwards polka-dot dress, and that's sort of how the day continued. Far too excited for a nap, she barreled through an entire day of presents, playing outside, helping with garden bed constructions, playing with friends, lots of visitors, eating cake, eating pickles, eating cheese and eating salami. We all had a lovely time celebrating the birth of or sweet little girl. I spent much of my early morning hours reading her baby book and reliving my pregnancy and birth and those sweet, blissful days of an infant.
And look how far we've come since then. Full conversations, desires, tantrums, joy, running, trust, creativity, caring, fun... all of the things that come with being 2 years old. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
Thanks for all of your continual support all these years...

Getting Ready
Whether you're a chicken waiting for her babies, a gardenbed waiting to be moved, a pathway waiting to be made, a house waiting for it's shingles, a dirt pile waiting to be moved, birthday presents waiting to be opened, peas waiting to grow, gardenbeds waiting to be planted or lilacs waiting to bloom. We're all here, getting ready for you to do your thing at 3 Brighton Avenue.

The Big Egg
Today was the day Cecilia asked for egg and toast for breakfast, and then said "big egg." She wanted the beautiful goose eggs for breakfast, about 3 times the size of a chicken egg, we cracked the thick shelled egg into the fry pan and excitement ensued across the kitchen. Chants of big egg, big egg, big egg filled the kitchen, madness and fun. There were questions of what temperature hat would ensure a cooked yolk. There was naked dancing from Nut-balls Maree as she watched the big egg cook. The camera was grabbed, there were portraits taken. Then there was the fun of cutting the big egg, and salting the big egg, and peppering the big egg. Because let's face it a big egg is apparently exciting.

The Company I Keep...
It's been quite the cold for Anne over here, I'm just starting to feel sort-of ok after 9 days! Luckily I had some very good friends to keep me company through this sickness. Herbal tea, a few double pointed needles and a few odds and ends of my favorite balls of yarn. I made something special, just for me to keep me warm next winter, and all in all I'm very extra pleased with them and the pattern I followed. Presenting the Fox & Geese Mitten:
ooooo! ahhhhh! When I made the thumb gore I increased 6 stitches at once, in pattern! How cool is that? I was astounded myself, the pattern is not so hard and out comes a very warm double-knit mitten in one of the more exciting patterns I've ever seen. Now I have something to look forward to next winter....
